Real Madrid brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold with a long-term contract

The defender's comeback is advancing according to plan, giving hope that the Madrid right-back may be fit soon enough to face his old team Liverpool in the upcoming European match.

The 27-year-old international sustained a hamstring problem during a match against French side Marseille in the group stage of the competition on September 16.

Alexander-Arnold exited the field in the fifth minute, with early reports indicating a possible absence of as long as a month and a half.

Real Madrid are scheduled to play at Liverpool on 4 November for the European fixture—precisely seven weeks since the incident happened.

Reports close to the player's condition state that the defender's comeback is moving along well, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold may make his initial appearance to Liverpool's stadium since joining Los Blancos in the summer.

A lifelong Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold earlier said that departing from the team he entered as a six-year-old academy player was the "most difficult decision he has ever taken."

During his spell with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold accumulated 354 appearances, contributing to claim multiple Premier League championships, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

Since joining to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has played on five occasions in various tournaments, totaling 156 minutes of action.
